Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship

The Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship Program at Cooper University Hospital participates in all aspects of surgical management and participates in a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. The program is accredited by the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO). It is one year in length and accepts one fellow per year.

In this program, the fellow will have the opportunity to interact with clinicians in companion breast specialties, primarily medical oncology, radiation oncology, radiology, and plastic and reconstructive surgery and rehabilitation in order to gain experience in these areas.

The fellow attends and presents at weekly multidisciplinary tumor board and participates in a weekly didactic breast lecture series and other conferences. The fellow will also lead monthly breast journal clubs.

Rotations include breast surgery, pathology, breast imaging, medical oncology, radiation oncology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, cancer screening/ community outreach/ high risk/ genetics, integrative oncology/ survivorship, post-treatment rehabilitation, and research.
